AVID Foundations
Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a program built around evidenced-based strategies to increase skills in Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR). This 2-day interactive PD will increase your knowledge and use of productive AVID strategies to increase student engagement and academic achievement in your classroom. This AVID Foundations workshop is open to all Elementary Teachers, SDC K-8, RSP K-8 teachers, and all elementary administrators. This is a perfect training for teachers new to AVID or teachers that would like to renew their knowledge of AVID strategies. The training will be held on March 18 and 19 in "The Nest" at The IDEA Academy @ Cottonwood. Lunch, snacks and water will be provided; and you will be compensated for up to 6.0 hours/day at the extra duty MOU rate. Attendance is required for both days. Sign-up will remain open through March 11, 2024. Participants will need a laptop or Chromebook for the course as well as headphones. Chromebooks will be made available at the event. More
